I have a 2009 Saturn Vue 3.6l XR. The factory stainless muffler has a hole in it, and is terribly loud.
Unfortunately, GM has discontinued the exhaust system parts for this model, nor are there any aftermarket mufflers available for the 3.6l v6.
The only aftermarket mufflers available are for the 2.4l engine models, and are not a fit.
Was wondering what other 3.6l XR owners have done.
Did you find a shop that would patch/repair the OEM muffler and if so.What was the cost?
Or did you use an aftermarket muffler of some sort?..If so.please kindly provide model# of muffler used.
I put on a used one few months ago. $30 at junkyard. Easy. It does not have a rust hole.
bought many parts at yard. 2-3 muffs. I put a 3.5 muff on my 3.0 vue. The pipe is 2.25” and inlet is 2.5”? Approx. I got an adapter at oriellys. Cut pipe in flat section and use band clamp. Easy.
Correct. It has dual outlets, but i was told the second outlet is mostly for looks...
I too have been comparing the 3.0l captiva sport exhaust system. They are similar, but not at all exact...
The captiva's muffler inlet is situated in the center, whereas the Vue's muffler inlet is on the side, but they both join the exhaust system aprox in the same area.
It comes as no surprise that there is no aftermarket mufflers available for the 2012 3.0l Chevy Captiva Sport. 3.6l vue exhaust system
I work on equinoxes with 3.4. I refuse to touch 3.6 stuff. I was unaware that it had dual pipes from motor. I wonder if a 2010 equinox with 3.6 has same setup? But we are talking about muffler end, not motor end.
