So, does it have a manual trans or an automatic? I can't tell by the picture...

 

The transmission is a standard shift. In the bottom right of the pic is the mounting ears cast into the block for the stock location of the shifter cables. It was a real trick getting the shift pattern just the same as in the car. You will see in the pic that things are not welded solid but just tacked down. I learned the hard way that you tack and test before you weld it 100%. A lot easier to take back apart if things don't go as planned.

In regards to learning to weld it is one of the most useful thing that I have ever learned how to do.
