I just bought a used 2003 Vue days ago... It has a V4 engine, AWD and 75k mile on it. But inoticed some weird sounds from the engine when I press the gas.. it sounds like it's whining... This is my first American made car.. i used to have a Subaru.. i don't know if it's normal.. Does anyone have similar experience? And by the wayˇK my engine temperature gauge is always pointing at <st1:time Hour="10" Minute="0">10 oˇ¦clock</st1:time> direction instead of 12 (meaning the temperature is actually lower than normal)ˇK Is there anything wrong?

I have VTi tranny

I just brought my Vue to a saturn service center today to have them check it out.. They told me everything is in working order.. there isnothing to worry about.. But i was searching on the web.. and i found out there are quite a few problems with the VTi (CVT) tranny.. Now i'm worried that will fail pretty soon in the future... Anyone know anything about this tranny?

PS: by the way.. i like their customer service..

This VTi tranny has indeed been problematic -- it is my understanding that Honda stopped offering this version due to the high failure rate.

I'm pretty </span>sure that Saturn has extended the "warranty" period for these trannys -- not sure of the terms -- might want to check with Saturn on this one -- I would think they would have mentioned it to you....

One thing for sure..............the VTI is not quiet. The 2.2 has been a good engine I'd guess your hearing the VTI.

I'm on third CVT tranny at 110k miles. Dealer only charged me $100 for the third one.
