Default Pulsing Electric??

I have a 2007 Saturn Vue V6 AWD with 153,000 miles. It started to randomly start faintly 'pulsing' or 'flashing' on the dash along with a battery light that flashes on and off but never stays on.

Again, this will happen 1 out of every 5 times when I start. Sometimes it will keep doing this as I drive and sometimes it will disappears as driving.

I've attached a 10 sec video to show what it is doing.

I have never lost any battery or had any issues starting the car. Triple AAA came out and tested my battery and said it's perfect. Anyone seen this before??

I'm gonna take it in but was just curious...

Can verify AC is getting through with a meter or turn the lights on high fan at full radio on etc. Load the charging circuit and see if the pulses get more pronounced. If so, you have a bad rectifier.

Would it be a rectifier if the battery never gets weak??

A battery can be fine all the time and diodes can go bad. It's more likely that a bad alternator will kill it.

Research says this vehicle has a smart charging system, controlled by the ECM. There should be a multi wire connector plugged into the back of the alternator. Check for corrosion/damaged wiring. The rhythmic blinking may indicate a communications error between the ECM and the alternator, or some type of misbehavior of the alternator when commanded by the ECU
