Hi,

I am having an issue with my wife's car. This is a strange situation as the original problem was just a brake light issue. The right rear brake light wasn't working and when we attempted to replace the bulb it was stuck and the bulb housing was broke. I ordered a used tail light assembly and we put it in, but now the brake light works and the right rear turn signal doesn't. That isn't the real issue thought the car now will not come out of park.

I tested the brake switch and it has power coming out of it. I was told it was a BCM problem so I order a BCM from a 2009 impala and the car started, but it didn't come out of park. I then tested the pins on the socket that power the solenoid and I don't have power. I also applied power to the interlock and it works, so I am losing power somewhere between the brake and the interlock. As far as I can tell the ignition plays a role in the interlock, but I am at a loss and a mechanic is not in the budget.
