Default 08 Vue Exhaust problem

So i just installed a cherry bomb on my car but its melting the plastic bumper any body have any suggestions on how to stop the bumper melt? Also it tends to vibrate alot on the bumper so i would need something that stops heat and dampens vibrations.

Don't remember the exhaust config but I would think you would be able to drop a few hangers down near the rear and if needed put a spacer between the muffler strap and where it attaches to the vehicle,

That and/or extend the piping so the end is not flush with the bumper.
Or add a stainless shroud/exhaust tip attached to the frame with an o.d. larger than the tip now and install with an air gap to shield the bumper

So i noticed that the grey plastic fake diffuser was the cause of the vibrations so i removed said trim and cut a bit of the bumper off as you will see in the picture.
You can alao check out some videos i have made on my youtube channel for the car. Its ViralVids4lif its got a few videos of before and after exhaust. I will upload pictures tomorrow of all my current modifications in a new thread.

It's just too close. You need to angle it down about 30 degrees or so. And you should be able to do that with a couple of cuts where the cherry bomb attaches to the exhaust pipe.

What he said. An exhaust shop could make you the perfect length piece w a slight bend --> problem solved. And you can put the trim back on so it need not look disheveled.

Gotta remember -- if you're diving into the unknown head first w a 2nd gen Vue, you are representing all of us Saturn folk. I'd rather hear it "purr" with a glasspack (in comparison) and have the external mods distract others into not realizing it is somewhat of a sleeper for what it is -- it's not all show no go like many of the old rice machines -- if you're going to do some performance mods. But it's your ride, not mine -- and you are free to take it in any direction you please.
