Top won't close? Fix it!
Many owners have posted about the problem of a top that will no longer close. It is because a small red clip on each side is broken. This clip is concealed but it allows you to hook on a rod that opens up the two flaps you see along the back edge of the car under the top. these flaps must be raised to close the top and if the clips are broken the flaps will not raise.
this cannot be repaired by replacing the small clips on either one side or both sides depending on what is broken
Let me save you all a lot of trouble. After looking on line at auto parts stores, in amazon, on ebay, and more, I found this simple little part at NAPA locally. It was ON THE SHELF and cost $4.00 for each side and the man was nice enough to clip them on Several of the references above are wrong. Try this, I just did it ONE hour ago. NAPA part # 735-2786. Get the right number, a number of these clips are out there and they are different sizes.
