Probably put the wrong fluid in the motor. Would not surprise me.

Is the car actually displaying overheating symptoms, or are you just going by the gauge? After about 5 minutes of idling, measure the voltage between the coolant temperature sensor's yellow wire and a good ground. Reference signal should be between 1.5 and 2 volts. Check the resistance between the sensor's two terminals (with it disconnected, of course.)....Should read 3400 ohms at 70 F and 185 ohms at 212 F. If the sensor doesn't read close to the specified resistance values, replace it. If the reference voltage isn't within range, check for an open wire.

No matter what you said you did to the wires, the code says there is a problem with the sensor.
If at this point in time you are going only by the gauge then the question has not been answered.
Is the car actually overheating or does the gauge say it is?

i think i figured it out guys....

someone else suggested that i replace the sensor wire and elec connector because of the cut/splice i made on the yellw wire...and because i left the in-line connector on the black wire. I went to the junk yard on the way home yesterday and found one that had the same in-line connectors and a good elec connector. i cut out the one in my car and replaced it. so both wires now have the in-line connector again and the car is NOT overheating anymore.

to anwer the questions, it was displaying overheating symptoms...yes. it would boil over and coolant would get everywhere. I thought maybe jiffy lube did something wrong as well....but i drove it for a whole day after they touched it and it was fine. it was only after my tune up that i started having trouble. and thats because i pulled that damn wire by accident and the yellow wire came out of one end of the in-line connector. i couldn't get it back into the connector so i just removed the connector and spliced the two ends together (and left the connector on the black wire). it looks like having one connector gave me the code 15 and made the sensor not function correctly. But i also found plenty of saturns in the junk yard (1991 thru 1994) that had no in-line connectors on either wire. not sure why some do and some don't.
turned out to be a pretty costly (and stupid) error. i just hope all this can help someone else.

the lesson here: coolant temp sensor must have either BOTH in-line connectors....or none.
