Default Thermostat Location?

Hello, I am new meber to this forum since I got 1994 SL2 5 speed manual. I would like to know where the thermostat location. I am not sure if I am seeing right, but I think it is near to the water pump. Am I correct on this?

So far I already put in new:
Clutch
Both front Bearing
One Driver ball joint. Passneger side already put in new.
Front brake pad/rotor

Anything else should I watch out for?

Thank you guys.

What tool did you use to remove the ball joint from the control arm?

Lower radiator hose, right in front of the water pump, passenger side. Why do you think you need a thermostat, engine running cold?

Keith, yeah the engine running cold all the time. Couldnt warm up the heat. Thank you.

Derf, the ball joint is connect to the control arm. I dont think we can disconnect them. When I bought new ball joint, come with control arm.

Something to watch out for is the drain on the radiator. Sometimes they wont seal when you put them back in. They are cheap, you can get one at O'Rielly's but not at AutoZone for some reason.

I have other question. When I read on the coolant tank, say "Use Phosphate - Free Ethylene Glycol Antifreeze Only"
What does that mean?
I bought the anti freeze, I dont know if it is right kind for SL2 engine. It is Prestone, it says will fit to all models n etc. But back of it say in warning,"Contains ethylene glycol (107-21-1), diethylene glycol (111-46-6), sodium 2-ethyl hexanoate (19766-89-3), and sodium neodecanoate (31548-27-3).

Please let me know, it is all done n ready to pour in.

I tried to download picture but I dont know how.

The universal long life antifreeze is fine for the Saturn. In fact, that is what I am currently using in my Saturn.

Just messing with you , TGP.
We get alot of people on here that are full of it --- I was just making sure you weren't. And you're ot.

Other thing you might want to check/swap is the ects (two wire) coolant temp sensor in the head and it's connector. Sensor TIP should be brass; if it is plastic resin, replace with one ordered from gm dealership. Replace the connector too. About $45.

This sensor is critical to the proper operation of the s-car engine.

The 1 wire sensor in the head drives the gauge on the dash.
