1999 SL2 manual trans

just bought the car. When the car is warm almost every time I go to start it I push the clutch in and turn the key and it just cranks but no sign of life til I switch the key off and try to start again. Then it starts right up.

almost seems like a security system is cutting ignotion the first time I crank it.

anyone else ever experience this?

 

Probably fuel pressure bleed off between trips.

Turn key to on, count to 4,5,6. Then crank. You should be able to find a time interval that works for you.

If that doesn't work for you we can investigate further.
