Hello all. I need some help. I searched but wasn't able to find an answer. When replacing the thermostat on a 2002 Saturn SL2 1.8, how does everyone reach the bolts holding on the thermostat housing? I have an ac compressor that is really in the way. All the online help I've found just says unbolt it but I am having a hard time reaching the bolts. Do I have to take off the ac compressor? Just looking for some tips from some experts, which I am not. Thanks in advance.

I replaced mine and did not have to remove the compressor. I don't recall it being that hard to do. If the compressor was in the way, then the lower radiator hose would not reach.
