Interchanging Doors for '03 L300
My driver's door and front panel (part of the fender possibly) are screwed up and I'd like to switch them out. What other types and years of cars are compatible in terms of body?

The door skin and the fender are both plastic on our cars. If the steel part of the door is ok you can replace just the skin. The door skins are all 6 years, 2000 to 2005. The front fenders only fit three years with each style, 2000-2002 and your style 2003-2005. You will need to remove the bumper cover to remove the fender. The door skin comes off after removing a pin on the outer handle and many Torx screws from the inside and one small nut on the chrome trim piece. I’m sure there is a youtube out there on how to do it.

Thanks for your reply! It is the hinges that are messed up on my driver's door and I'm wondering what year models are compatible? That's good to know for the front fender.

Front door hinges are the same for all 6 years. The best part is that the passenger side hinges are the same as the driver’s side just put the top on the bottom and vice versa. Passenger side hinges will be in much better shape at the junk yard. Take the door check also since they will swap sides also. I think that changing the hinges is easiest with the fender off. The bottom fender bolt is behind the rocker trim panel. Disassemble a car at the wrecking yard to see how it all goes together. There are some push pins that go in from the bottom along the rocker and behind the seal at the bottom of the doors. There are also a couple up inside the bumper cover, screws in the inner fender and push pins across the top of the grill. The bumper cover will pull off straight ahead.
