I'm not entirely sure what you're on about there...
But, my alt might be here today, just in time to place the box on the passenger seat and go to work... My ZZP order shipped out too...

Actually it seems I might have to farm out the work to change the alternator... The blower does in fact have to be taken off to remove the alt, and I don't have the tools to remove the blower... It seems I need a 6mm hex key that is like 8" long...

How to replace an Alternator - Page 2 - Saturn ION RedLine Forums
see post #12, and thread in general.
These folks say you can do it w/o removing blower---just a whole buncha wrassssstling and a coolant hose(maybe)

Yeah, I seen the bolts and connector, but I simply didn't see a path for the alternator to exit the car... I'll look again, as I would be positively thrilled to be able to drive my car again... I miss my seats, and my lights, and most of all, my BOOST!
I'm driving my ranger like:
Can't see more than 75 feet in the dark... seats have no lumbar support or lateral support...and every time I friggin accelerate, I get at most, like atmospheric pressure... Where is it? My positive pressure?! Zero to sixty takes, like, NINE FRIGGIN SECONDS! WTF?!

So, I got to look at the car for exactly twenty-five seconds before my wife seen me home, and informed me that I needed to take her to the doctor, her eye was swollen shut(which ruins depth perception)... But, I need to borrow a 15mm wrench(my new beginners set only has up to a 14mm, just my luck) and I think, with my option B lines moved, that I might be able to get the alt out, without removing the blower... But, that will have to wait until tomorrow, as I've not slept yet(have been using caffeine tablets for alertness) and I have to go to work in four hours, and I need sleep...

It was swollen shut and there was a discharge... Found out, for $20, that it's just a sty, but better safe than sorry... Not really find of coffee... I do like some cappuccinos, but I'm still not crazy about the taste of straight coffee...
I'm taking a short break today, I'm about half done... With my setup, the alt COULD NOT be removed without either:
A. Un-mount the engine from the car
B. Take off the blower...
I went with A, and now I'm putting everything back together slowly...
Engine had to be elevated 5/8 inch
Blower pulley had to come off(not the hub though)
Lots of fighting and cuts/scrapes... I've got the bottom bolt left to run all the way in and tighten(having to do it with a wrench because a ratchet/socket won't fit between bolt and cooling fan), and the belt to re-install(15mm on the tensioner and generous prying got it off easy), the pulley bolts to torque, battery needs charged(with my Ranger, via jumper cables), and the car needs driven...
Oh, and engine mounts re-tightened and all tools returned...
