I meant in terms of play/bearing wear but in no way did I indicate that --my bad.

Why leary of RockAuto?

I know what you meant, but I was pointing out that it needs a cleaning pretty bad, due to all the oil everywhere... There might be a tiny bit of play on the tensioner arm, but since it's working fine, I'm leaving it alone...

I'm not sure actually, maybe afraid of getting defective parts? Usually most of the reason I haven't ordered from them before was that I needed a part more quickly than they could get it to me...

Derf, with proper cooling mods, you can run as low as a 2.4/2.5 before damage will start. And honestly, the blower will give before the motor does.
But I would be the one pushing my luck if I drop to a 2.6 like I want to. That is starting to enter the danger zone not running meth/water/e85.
I am running a 2.7 no issue. It is all in the tune. Mine is conservative. I am probably getting about the same power he is due to that reason. Once I have HPT, I will probably turn it up just a hair.

As for Rock Auto- I love em. I have never had an issue with them, shipping has always been quick, prices have always been good.

Once you get HPT, I'm driving down there, and we're doing some fine tuning on my car too... The ZZP tune is notoriously conservative... I would be shocked if I made over 250whp... I could probably use to lean out my AFR a little(ZZP uses 11.8 they claim) and add timing until we see a little KR, then back down just a hair... That, and we could finally get my CASE learn done! Nobody around here wants anything to do with the car, given its state of tune/mods...

I test drove a ss/sc that had the zzp stage 3 tune (supposedly). It seemed extremely aggressive compared to my car, and the only difference in set up was that I don't have a front mount, and a size smaller pulley.

He may not of had the 50% throttle in first though. I kept spinning the tires no matter how soft I went on it. Walked away from that car going "WTF?".

Im working on getting HPT. They have been popping up used stupid cheap lately. But I don't have the money because parts haven't been selling (guess its due to summer, and people normally work on their cars during the winter).

About to go toy with that steering wheel for tooter.

Usually it just pulls boost in 1st gear, not throttle... Right now, I only start spinning above 4k in 1st, but not spinning too hard, and I occasionally spin in 2nd in less than ideal road conditions... Up to about 4k, I only get about 9-10 degrees of timing advance, and then it ramps up to about 18-19 degrees... Keep in mind, I've not watched too closely, because above 4k, it pulls pretty hard and vehicular control is more important than grabbing data...

That's why we need HPT. Not so much in the lower rpms of first and second, so we don't kill tires.

You see, I see it the other way... I would like more at the lower end(2nd and up)to help get this thing off the line... Then again, maybe my leaky o-rings are causing a low end bog... Speaking of, where do I get those? Just order for my 04 IRL, or so I need them specifically for my 80# injectors? Maybe ZZP or OTTP carries them?

(Insert Adam Savage voice): "well, there's your problem!" Your crappy idle is probably caused by only having one o-ring in your injectors... I'll be sure to remember that when I'm changing mine(I just ordered a set along with two black ZZP decals)... I asked you on here, then checked the ZZP site... Why didn't I just look first?
