95 SC2 regains most of its former glory

The crank chain sprocket and the balancer probably share the same key. Is the key loose in the crank or only in the balancer? If it is loose in the crank then both components can move. Proper torque will buy you time, the proper repair is complete teardown and investigation. JB weld is temporary in almost all uses. Key slots can be reground and custom keys can be fabricated. Cranks can be welded and recut. My engine uses a torque to yield crank pulley bolt to help retain torque.

I could not tell on the initial inspection as I did not fully understand what I was looking at/for.
Thank you for the explanation. I will look at the FSM and see how it is ll connected.
Needless to say, that engine is done for as far as I am concerned. Internals other than the crank are likely salvageable, but I don't really have the space for a spare engine in the garage.
I'll find a good home for it.
Now to prepare for my 1st engine swap. I will be enlisting the assistance of SOMEONE....I can prob do it through the FSM alone but I'm sure there are some tricks of the trade to save time and effort......
Thanks again, Andy.
