I bought my mom's 2000 Saturn and have had high idle problems and joined, to get a better understanding, of this vehicle and it's common problems.

Probably a vacuum leak.

Ls L series or SL1?

Spray carb cleaner around intake at #1 cylinder and listen for change in idle. If so, there is your vac leak. Intake manifold gasket ill designed on first go round.
