I have a 1995 sl1 and I am truly diggin it. It sat in a yard that was wet most of the time for five years. I've spent most of my time cleaning up an absurd amount of mold and mildew and after the fifth bath, it's a pretty sharp looking car. Lots more cleaning, lubing, and tlc in my future. I'm removing the headliner now. ...looking forward to getting that done. Can't wait to share some pics

What are you using to clean the mold, Ron? Hydrogen peroxide is the best mold killer. I know a lot of people swear by bleach, but bleach doesn't keep it from coming back, like the peroxide. Post up a couple of pics. Removing the headliner isn't too bad of a job. I've done two on SC Coupes.

Howdy,
Hopefully, you are wearing some type of mask.
Be extra careful if it is black mold; that shayt can make you pretty sick.

Rube,

Are you saying that Hydrogen Peroxide residue lingers but bleach residue does not? That or the surface pH left behind would have to come into play.
Not challenging you, sir--just the chemist in me.

Yeah, derf, pretty much what you said. A few years ago, I had to have black mold remediation done in a bathroom. I ripped all of the old dry wall and insulation out and used bleach on the mold. The guy from the remediation company said that bleach just kills it on the surface, but the hydrogen peroxide actually penetrates the wood and kills the mold below the surface. He said that's why you see mold come back in a lot of places that have been wiped down with bleach. He said it doesn't matter whether you use full strength bleach (which I did) or a dilution of one cup to a gallon of water. If you get bored and have time, you can probably research mold remediation in a house and satisfy the chemist part of that question!
