My 95 saturn sl2 had a slamming problem when I would shift it to reverse but now when I shift to reverse itll rev a little like it's going to but it wont go into gear. But it can shift into reverse on a cold start, I'm just confused. Can you help me??

I had the exact same problem. One one of the shift solenoids - valves is failing. If you let it go too long it'll cause the input shaft nut to work loose too and you'll have to go inside the transmission to fix that. Fortunately all of that can be fixed without having to pull the transmission. Look for my series of posts on this subject.
