Hey Saturn people! I recently fixed my chick friends 2005 L300 83000mi A/C (blower connector problem) and now the A/C works but is not draining. I used the passenger side access panel to get into the console. Also removed the glove box to repair the A/C blower connector never saw the drain hose either time. Question where is it and is it possibly clogged or disconnected or what? Whats the typical issue with the drains? I drive a Jeep so little A/C exp. Any help would be truly appreciated.

 

Just a quick question -- does your "chick friend's" 05 L300 have a sunroof?

 

i had an 86 pontiac do the same thing and all it was that the rubber drain hose was clogged up

 

Thanks for the response but I found the A/C drain and popped a screwdriver in it and twisted it open. Water came rushing out for like 5 mins. Its in the engine compartment on the firewall by the heater hoses. Then went back to the blower motor problem. Pulled the rubber grommet away and cut a small slot in the evap box where the blower wires go in. Which relieved the 90 deg wire angle to the connector so far so good. Thanks for the input though.

As a follow up to anybody who has the same problem. ( blower fan motor not working or working labored) Basically I found that I had power to the motor but it would work intermittently. I could wiggle the two wires to the motor and get it to work all the time. The ultimate fix for this problem was to access the motor through the engine compartment. By pulling the wipers and cowling you can access the motor. Once I had the motor out I unscrewed the back where the connector went in. Be careful there are some magnets and the coil assembly but it allows access to problem. Inside next to the connector is a metal bracket -this is too close to the connector. I found that when I wiggled the wires it would cause the connector to short out on the bracket. I simply added some electrical tape to the side of this connector away from any moving parts to isolate the metal/connector and the motor runs like a champ.

 

Nice information to know -- I'll file this in my A/C section. Thanks again for the feedback
