Interesting posts, and I sure feel for dennis - but I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned Rock Auto as a source for our orphan's parts. I've been able to get stuff for my early 80's Dodge Mirada, our 82 GMC van conversion, as well as my '00 300M. Pricing is very competitive, and service is great. Maybe I like them because I live in the boonies; far from ANY dealers or big-box stores. Re: OBD II, I believe 1996 was the mandated change-over from OBD I. And I can still get codes by the key-dance method on my Chrysler. Anyway, just my 2 cents (Can) worth.

Rock Auto actually (as you say) does do a fine job of supplying parts. They must have a very good computor tracking parts system working for them. I have ordered obscure parts for some AMC cars I own that come in pairs or needed in pairs, they came individually drop shipped from different locations around the country. That is some tracking system to know where they are in order to ship them out. I just received parts for my Saturn that I did not even know still existed. I needed two and got one from a dealer as an assembly at a stiff price, the second came as a repair part from Rockauto at about $35.00. I have to rebuild the assembly but at roughly 15% of the cost from a dealer I can do that.
I am surprised you can get codes from your Chrysler with a Key Dance. Dang. I have not needed to get anything from my T&C yet, purchased new in 2007. It just turned 100,000 and is running like a watch. It has been a very good car. My 1996 was a disaster on wheels. It was almost as bad as my 1988 Lincoln Continental which was unable to stay out of dealer service over a 2 to 3 month time interval. During the 60,000 miles I owned it. And got rid of when the warranty ran out.
I think maybe it is time to purchase some service literature on the T&C just to make sure I have some when I need it.

woohooo! finally took care of those sway bar bushings. local shop did it while servicing tranny filter / fluid. they used the MOOG blue bushings, not sure P/N, but now i can sneak up on the neighborhood again - popping gone - only took me 2-3 years

next, digging into intermittent rough idle issue. removing valve cover trying to get to PCV orifice to clean it out. i have yellow mustard goop & moisture building up again inside my plastic air intake at the throttle body, and inside the short hose going from there into the valve cover. if my car was a cardiac patient, it has 80% blockage of this yellow goop. this seems to always be worse in wintertime. already tried Berryman fuel treatment in gas tank, and spray cleaning throttle intake. still once every couple days or so, i get a really bad rough idle usually at stop lights. occasionally car dies but does restart.

Suspect you either have a dip in the hose (low spot) or your PCV valve is plugged with the goop. I'd clean out the hose, replace the PCV valve, clear the air intake nipple and see how it goes from there. If it is significantly better, I'd break open the old PCV valve to see what is actually inside.

Thanks, Derf. good suggestion. i've been researching and also a local shop helped me determine that my '05 Ion3 has no actual PCV valve. i'll start a new post with similar topic soon. working on this today. i think it has an orifice inside the valve cover.

I have the same issue and the passenger CV joint I can move with my hand. This is the short video I took. Is it similar?

Dude, your video doesn't show up and this thread is over 6 years old. I'd suggest starting a new thread if you're having issues with your car. Post it under the Ion topics.
