Hi,

I have 2010 Vue and when I hit bumps I hear a clunking noise. I raised the front end. There is no play in the tires when I attempt to move them placing my hands at 12 and 6, then again at 9 and 3 positions. Which tells me there is no play in the ball joints or the tie rod. What other issues can I check for and how?

Worn struts?
Sway bar bushing?

I'd be prying on things.

 

Sway bar links seem to be the first noise makers. Are there any rust issues where this car came from. If so a thorough investigation is needed.
