08 vue starter install located an orange wire, install went good started right up and drove home but with a battery light on console as I looked in engine compartment found a orange wire and don't know where it belongs apart from that the car won't start back up without jump

 

XE/XR?2.2/3.5/3.6L?

If you trace it backward, where does it lead?

It is probably the positive wire to the alternator from the main starter post like an L series.
