Hello,

New to the forum, first post, etc.
Just bought an '04 Vue with the V6. I have been hearing from friends "Oh no! Is that the one with the bad VTI transmission?"

Well is it?......

Hoping to be able to post success stories and enjoying the Vue versus horror stories.

Seems to run OK so far with a quirk or 2 ( I will ask about those later)

Anyway, any info on of the 2004 V6 Vue's had the recalled trans or not would be great.

The trans with trouble sometimes and with no replacement part is the CVT That is the one that never shifts,it's a constant variable transmission. The other trans is the 4 speed regular shifting unit and those are repairable although sometimes expensive.

 

I don't remember all the cars that had a recall for what. Best to look it up with VIN in hand.
