Hi all i'm new to the forum but I was hoping someone might have a suggestion. I have a 2005 saturn vue and all of a sudden I started it up and as I drove down my street the check engine light started to flash and I was having power and lurching problems. Same as I have had before in other cars when I get bad gas. Light has since gone solid in low gears and low RPM and flashes in higher gears and high RPM. Autozone did the diagnostic and it said everything was fine. I know its not because I am still having power problems and rattling problems. Two tanks of gas later thats not the problem. What could cause it to be fine one day and the next it feels like its going to fall apart. Any help would be great thanks.

 

Autozone is fine for reading normal trouble codes (Pxxx) codes.
Be sure the reader used can also pull transmission trouble codes.

If all else fails, take it to Saturn before you damage something

 

would it still be a transmission problem if it acts up while it is idle and it is a manual transmission?

 

could be. Get the codes read properly -- including tranny codes

Which engine do you have in your VUE ??

 

guess he never did get those tranny codes (or he's hiding them)
