I just picked up a 99 SL2 with 82K miles for my son from a used car dealer yesterday. It did not come with a warranty. Unfortunately, the check engine light came on 30 minutes after taking off. He took it for a test drive four times before paying for it and nothing. He took it to an Autozone and the code read ERG needs replacing. Is this a common thing in Saturns? Thanks. Ed.

 

not sure but my check engine light was on and two days later my motor went out

 

try changing the egr valve it is right on the valve cover are takes no tools to replace it
