Default Camshaft position Sensor location

Hello Everyone,

I was driving to work this morning when my Saturn Vue completely shut off on me. I had it towed to my parents house, we put a code reader on it and it gave P0340. We need to know where exactly the camshaft position sensor is located. Thank you for your time 🙏🏻

Vehicle make: 2007 Saturn Vue 3.5L V6

Apparently, it is located underneath one of the two timing covers. The power steering pump must be removed, as well as the timing cover, timing belt, and possibly other stuff. If you are not experienced with timing an engine, leave this one to a professional.

Also, are you sure the code and sensor are responsible for the stalling? Could the code that has set be indicative of a larger issue?

There are a few YouTube videos for this for a 3.5 V6 in both the Honda Odyssey and Saturn Vue which have almost identical setup under the hood with the 3.5. however there is no single video I can find that covers this repair from start to finish. Again, you have to remove the timing belt and therefore put it back on. If you've never timed an engine, leave it to someone who has.

Do you have a scan tool? Not a code reader we want to see live data.
You may be wasting your time and money to replace that sensor without proper testing.

Thought I already hinted at that...... (?)

Does the engine crank?
