Default 2008 Saturn Vue XE, unplugged anti- theft from ignition

I bought a 2008 Saturn Vue XE, while trying to replace the bottom steering wheel cover I unplugged the Anti-Theft security system from the ignition once I plugged it back in my car would not start I tried the 30 minute reset, the key in the door, disconnecting positive battery terminal, nothing has worked. I called a mobile locksmith who can come out and reprogram my key... Is there a possibility that this will work since it wasn't the key that was damaged it was actually unplugging the anti theft from ignition ?please any advice helps I hate to spend $250 reprogramming my key and still have a car that won't start

I don’t think you hurt the key programming. I do not have any information on the VUE line of Saturns. You may have damaged the sensor itself and or the programming between it and the Body control module. My L series has a 10 minute security relearn that has to be performed three times exactly how it is explained in the factory service manual when ever any of the modules or security sensors are replaced. I would suggest professional help, probably not the locksmith.
