Default 2007 Vue 2.2L

Hello. I have a 07 Vue 2.2L that needs a catalytic converter that's C A.R.B. Will the 06 cat fit the 07? The gm parts website the part number is interchangeable, I'm looking at the aftermarket walker calcat or number 82684. Can anyone help please? Thank you!

That would be a question for a C.A.R.B. judge. It will physically fit but is is it going to be legal? I moved out of Commiefornia 40 years ago.

Always wanted to know what kind of mess c a r b stuff was so I did some research on your behalf.

The following is not to insult your intelligence.

Basically, there is a list of allowed models of cats that are approved for specific vehicle applications only. This means that you must go to the executive order database and find all of the cats that are aftermarket and considered carb compliant. If the part number is not present in that list, you may not legally put it on your California vehicle.

I found the following on the carbcats website. The executive order number allowing for these aftermarket parts to be exempted is in the screenshots below. I think. Can't get the damn thing to open. There may be other manufacturers listed in there. Apparently the only way you can get a waiver is if absolutely no one makes a converter for your vehicle anymore. I have not yet tried to look up the magnaflow products and I do not understand why there are three for the front and rear. Seems there should only be 2 each.

Just because an aftermarket company states that their 2006 part will fit a 2007 just not mean it's carb approved to be installed on a 2007. I think the answer is in that executive order document. If we are talking identical GM numbers, you may have a case. If you were using GM parts, that is.

The above is the sum total of what I think I know about carb all of which I learned in the last hour. Hopefully it is helpful.

Hope this launches you on a successful quest.

I looked at Napa Calcat and that number is only certified for 2002-2006 VUE with a 2.2L. When I look at the v-6 VUE there are 4 cats listed and they fit through 07. They cost about twice as much as the Federal cats so make sure they will pass before you buy one.
