2005 Vue Power Locking issue
I wrote up an intro in the new members sub forum, if you want some further background.
I just purchased a 2005 Vue V6 AWD. It was purchased six hours from where I live. On the drive home the power locks started acting nuts; all the doors were locked, yet randomly the locking mechanism would get triggered over and over, like someone hitting the button over and over. It sounded like it was coming from the passengers side, but that’s only my perception, I’m guessing.
Has anyone had the issue, is it a known issue, and how can it be fixed?

I'm not at all familiar with the Vue but will venture a guess. IF it in fact has a BCM, I think you should check the connector on it. It could have years of corrosion on it and maybe by disconnecting it and spraying the contacts and harness with CRC Electrical Contact Cleaner and then plugging it back in and unplugging it several times to help "sweep" the contacts clean, that will make a difference. If it DOESN'T have a BCM, then I don't know. I also don't know where the location of said BCM might be but would think it's under the dash pad somewhere. Maybe the master switch is dirty and needs cleaning? IDK, I'm NOT a mechanic and never have been. I've just worked on and kept my own cars going for over 50 years. I don't trust other people to work on my stuff. Oh, welcome to the forum and good for you that you're taking care of your Mom. Mine passed at 101 and I still miss her.
Update- apparently the lock/unlocking issue was directly related to the other issue with the interior lighting not working, and the prior owner removing the fuse for them. That issue was from a faulty door switch not functioning; when I replaced that, the lights work correctly and the power locks acting crazy also ceased. I’d call that a win-win.
