2002 Vue cruise control not engaging
Any insights into troubleshooting? Previous owner had used a 5 amp fuse (cabin fuse panel) for the cruise control spot, when a 3 amp was called for. I've got the 3 amp fuse in place now, but could anything have been hurt when the 5 amp was installed? I checked to make sure all the brake light bulbs were working. The On/Off switch on the steering wheel lights up, but nothing ever engages. I'll replace the Res/Accel/Set/Coast button, just to rule that out. I checked the switch under the brake pedal and it looks fine (I think). I assume there should be a switch around the clutch, as well, but haven't been able to find it that one. Maybe the throttle cable? Not sure if this car has an actuator or module or something else. Some parts I've found online are contradictory on that point.
Also, is there a light on the dash that lights up when cruise control is working correctly for the Vue?

If the throttle has a cable, there should be a second cable back to an actuator. If there is no cable then the ecm controls the cruise. My 2002 L 200 has a cable and actuator. My 2002 L300 is drive by wire and no actuator. Either one has a light on the cruise switch but no other light when activated.
