I have a 2001 saturn sl1 series. I have been having some overheating problems with my saturn. My shop said that the ects was bad, and I just recently replaced that. My neighbor and I noticed that my radiator fan doesn't come on even when the a/c is turned on. Should the radiator fan turn on when the a/c is turned on regardless of the engine temp?

 

Yes it should. Run a set of test leads directly from the battery to the fan to make sure it will work .......

 

the a/c fan will not run if the refrigerent is low on the a/c system

 

I have a 96 SL2 with the same problem, the a/c compressor comes on but no radiator fan. So far I changed the fan motor, the colant temp sensor, and swaped the relay with another one. Still nothing, what am I missing? Could the ECU gone bad?

 

check for 12V at fan connector with A/C compressor engaged
