P.S. I have a brass-tipped ECTS in it now and it, as well as what else I have replaced, did not change a thing.

Can a PCM just instantly take a crap and go south? I have replaced almost everything else!! I know that they are horribly expensive, and I was told they have to be reflashed to the particular car. (I have access to a 2000 SL1 parts horse.)

I no longer have service documents for Saturn Cars newer than 1995 so if this is meaningless, ignore. But I only see one error code, that of a 300 something which is called a misfire. From the symptoms given the car runs and then it doesn't. There should be other codes, lacking those the one single repetitive failure I have had on FI cars is fuel pumps. And the symptoms of running have been exactly as described or close to it. It has happened often enough that I bought a fuel pressure gauge to measure fuel pressure with as a diagnostic tool. It has proven to be invaluable. Where as a fuel pressure gauge for working on cars with carburetors I have never needed and still do not own one.
It would be mighty interesting to know what the fuel pressure is when the misfiring starts. A car needs basics, fuel and air so unless some one has shoved a sock into the sir intake on the intake manifold I would wonder if it is getting proper fuel?
