Default Door switch replacement

Hello all. I have a 2001 SL2 and for the past 6 months or so, I've had an intermittent issue w/ the door locks. The rocker door lock switch on the driver side seems faulty. At times, it will not correct itself and lock/unlock repeatedly until it drains the battery. I'm assume I can just replace the switch itself ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/SATURN-SL1-S...1bff2a&vxp=mtr ) and not the whole handle lock switch ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Saturn-S-Ser...0105f0&vxp=mtr ) correct? Does that piece just pop out of the handle unit?

Thanks

Yes, it does appear that way. I was just looking for some confirmation from someone else who has experienced this, that I only need to replace that one part and not the whole panel.

I'm not sure if the Saturns have a separate BCM (body control module) but if so, check your connector for corrosion or a loose wire. The BCM usually controls this function.

Ayup -- I'd check my connections first too. Hate to spend money on parts I don't need...

well, got the part (just the lock) and changed it out in about 5" and all seems to be functional now.
