I geta rattle noise when the A/C is on or if I hit the gassuddenly. I located the noise and its the tensioner shaking and making the noise. I replaced the tensioner but the noise is still there. Could this be a motor mount, power steering pump, or water pump thats seized?

 

Inspect the motor mounts carefully for wear or missing rubber dampeners or else try a good shop capable of knowing a mount that's worn and not try to sell you something you don't need like hot air. It helps to post the year and mileage too. Seeing the tensioner shaking and replacing it is just good maintenance as it would have worn out if it wasn't. A very good method to isolate moving parts noise would be to remove the serpentine belt again and very briefly (to prevent overheating from a non-spinning water pump) run the engine, leaving the motor mounts to make noise if they're worn out. The accessory driven parts won't be rotating and you'd have to turn each one by hand to feel for any more worn pulleys such as the idler. You should be able to narrow it down eventually. thanks ducky i appricieate it. the motor mounts was the only other suggestion my mechanic made so i'll get them replaced and post the results. i forgot to list but my car is a 1995 sl1 auto with 160kmiles. thanks again!
