99 SL1 Sunroof headliner
Hey guys, I have kind of a niche issue. I have a 99 SL1 with a sunroof and we need to work on the sunroof, no big deal I have done that before. The problem is the headliner, more specifically the headliner backing form. It's been in and out of the car several times and I know it's deteriorating. I'm afraid if we take it out again it's just going to self-destruct into dust. Anyone have experience stabilizing these forms? Or fabricating a new one? Adapting a non-sunroof form?
I'm going to check the pull-it yards for one, but an SL with a sunroof was fairly uncommon.
Ideally I would recover it (again) while it's out, but I'm not sure it would survive the process.

Those manual windows bring back to my early childhood when many family members had cars with them, one of the Toyota cars I grew up with had the headliner falling apart at 10 years of being kept and taken to a local upholstery shop where they put in a new one.
