Smile 2002 SL1 stalls out and it won't start.

Hello everyone. I am having issues with my 02 sl1. For 3 months the car would stall out and then I would have to restart it. Those Same issues went on for awhile. I took it to a saturn dealership mechanic twice and they could not duplicate the problem and they proceeded to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the car. Then last week the car stalled out and it will not start. The engine will turn, but it won't crank over. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Fuel delivery seems ok. The starter seems strong and the battery isn't too old. Thanks for your time guys.

If it will not start at all now, see if you are getting any spark. You are sure you are getting fuel? We will need a few more symptoms to make an accurate diagnosis. No spark would steer me to the CPS (they have been known to fail).

Check for spark -- if no spark...

+ 1 Crankshaft Position sensor --- they often flake out intermittently as they die -- if your CPS goes, you will have no spark (by design), and car will stall in the blink of an eye (just literally stops running). Dealership cannot duplicate since car only stalls when CPS circuit momentarily goes open (and PCM inhibits spark)...often when the car is at operating temp.
