2000 SL2 spark at coils, not at plugs
Wtf
You are all over the place.
Work to date has not ruled out the semi likely.
Can we please stick to that?
Yes, this is coming from the guy that writes 1000 word replies that veer off topic. But at least I'm not telling someone to check the map connector

Just popping in for a quick update. Pulled plugs and checked them for spark. Had two dead ones (Cyl 1&2), replaced and she sputtered to life. Evened out and I took it around the block. Low coolant warning light came on as I pulled back into the yard so I popped the hood to check only to find that the intake manifold nipple that has a hose running back to the reservoir had broken off and she was dumping coolant. Looks like I need to get that coolant and nipple section's metal replacement and set about removing the intake to cut off that section. Found a three part YouTube video on removing the manifold and doorman has a YouTube video on cutting that section from the manifold. Hopefully once completed the car will calm down and stop giving me a hard time.
Got the intake off and hacksawed, everything went ok except a bit of coolant dumped out from the top when I forgot to reattach the coolant line and the return line to the reservoir to the new metal piece. Wouldn't start after reconnecting those. Ended up air hosing everything off for awhile and she eventually rolled back to life. I do think a fusible link went at some point there because I heard a loud pop when I was checking for spark and was putting the plugs back in, which was weird and now the alternator won't charge the battery. It ran great until the battery died. I'll be starting a new thread for this issue though.
