Somehow that math doesn't make sense to me, Andy. Or did you mean 1887?

Yes, my father was born in 1917 and my mother in 1920.

Cool. My Dad was born in 1908 and passed in 1989. Mom was born in 1913 and passed in 2014. Dad was 80 and Mom was 101.

I kept waiting for Doyle to let us know if the hazard switch was the problem. Apparently he doesn't want to share.

Apologies, I've had a busy several days. Which of the bulbs is controlled by the brake circuit? I'd test myself but I don't have anybody to press the pedals while I check the lights, nor do I have a handy mirrored surface.

On my car the top bulb is the tail/brake bulb. The center bulb is the turn bulb, it has one filament. Your car might have dual filaments since you have no orange section like I do. The bottom bulb is the reverse light, it also has one filament.
Your car may also have only two bulbs since the 2000-2002 cars are different than the 2003-2005 cars. I only have a 2002 service manual set.

I use a length of 2x4 wedged between the pedal and the back cushion of the front seat adjusted to hold it in position

I finally got a chance to have somebody else cycle the lights - the brake light is indeed the top light of three (above the indicator and reverse lights). Apologies for misstating the situation - from inside the light cover, the top light looks dramatically different (and is harder to remove) than the other two.
