Remove the spring and cap holding the trailing shoe to the backing plate. Hold the pin on the back of the backing plate with your fingertip. Twist the pin with needle nose pliers. By moving the shoes apart releases some of the tension on the hold down springs. I chipped a front tooth 30 years ago when one got away from me.
Remove the lower cross spring.
Slide the trailing shoe away and release the parking brake cable from the parking brake arm.
hi rube- those photos andy sent me are i think perfect to correct any mf(mal function) in the rear brakes of the L100. if by sticky you mean a permanently available reference on the forum for others, i think its a great idea. btw love your nickname. will get back to the forum when i check out my rear drums. thanks tons bob fisher
I hope that helps you with your brakes. I have both sides if you need hard parts, I sold my one drum brake Saturn. Springs and adjuster parts seem like they are in good condition.
