Removing remoter start

Removing remoter start
I installed a Bulldog RS1200 remote starter in my wife's 2006 Ion a couple of years ago with a bypass module. It worked well enough until a month or so ago. Now the ignition key often won't start the vehicle, but the remote will, though sometimes the key does. The thing up and wouldn't start at all for her at the airport yesterday until she sat for an hour and then the remote would start it.
I have decided to remove the unit completely, have reconnected the small white wire and the black/white wire at the switch, but am left with a heavy orange and heavy blue wires coming over the top of the column. I can't figure where these go. The ignition and accessories will come on, but it won't turn over. I tried the 30 min reset procedure with no luck. I am naturally concerned about the two extra wires coming out of the harness...
Suggestions (besides only buy pre computer era vehicles)?

That would be my normal course of action. The one and only parts store here doesn't have one and I won't be able to work on it at all next week as I will be out of town so ordering it for this time is mute. I ended up towing it to a local shop that has proven talented with the computer/electrical stuff in the past. I need to get it reliable for my wife and am willing to pay a few hundred if necessary...
