Hello, I'm new to this forum and not sure where else to look but, I have a 2007 Saturn Ion base model 2.2L that has I have only recently had some issues with the clutch. The line itself is fine but the part that the line actually connects to is having an issue where the bleeder valve is just opening at random and releasing all of the pressure / fluid that is in the reservoir. I've taken it to a mechanic that works mainly on Saturn vehicles, I was told that the spring / stopper that is inside is not working properly, and he attempted to just plug / seal the bleeder valve with, what he referred to as, "Industrial Strength Epoxy". He told me that the 07' model originally did not have a bleeder valve attached and if I ever needed to bleed the line, to just pull the clip and release the connected line. I was fine with this method as long as it worked but it only solved the problem until I literally pulled into my driveway after taking it from the shop.
In the photos I've provided, could anyone please tell me what part would need to be replaced for the bleeder? I'm honestly not sure if this part is discontinued, either. Every time that I look for the "Clutch Line" or assembly that it is a part of, I either don't get any results or it tells me that it has been discontinued. I may be looking for the incorrect part in the first place. Thank you to anyone in advance that can help.
Best bet is likely a pick and pull.
figure out the part num and which ion versions it was used in so that you can check the maximum number of vehicles for the part. The blown up parts diagrams on the parts sites should give you a good idea of whether the part is its own individual part which I doubt or whether it is part of the hose
Thank you, I appreciate you and Derf taking the time to take a look. I just know next to nothing when it comes to anything that's actually on / in the engine. I've replaced parts that surround the inside of the hood but not anything directly on the engine so it can be confusing on what is what.
Man, that is really unfortunate because I had the slave cylinder replaced two years ago and the warranty ran out this past June.
I replaced the transmission on my 2004 Ion last year, and put in a new clutch kit which includes the slave cylinder. The slave cylinder is available separately at RockAuto (and probably other retailers), but the pain in this job is that the transmission must be removed to replace the slave cylinder. That's at least a six hour job if everything goes okay.
It's a pain. But we'll worth it.
if you're capable of doing the work yourself and don't mind junk yards, I can help you not have to use that same crappy design
