'05 Ion 4 door won't start after battery being drained
The car was running fine, then on Tuesday night I accidentally left the key and lights on.
I do remember the security light coming on when I tried to start it on Wednesday morning.
Today I got it boosted, it turns over and I hear the fuel pump turning on, the vehicle cranks, but it won't start.
I read a guide for resetting the security lock, I'm just not sure that's the issue. I also tried a guide for priming the fuel pump, which hasn't had any effect either. Wondering if the security lock is still engaged and it's not firing?
It has 45k km on it and hasn't really given me any issues before this battery got drained.
Can you guys think of anything that might be the problem? Going to try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so and trying again, just wondering if there are any other ideas or things to try. I'm about 100km from town, so a tow truck will be expensive and it's my only vehicle so I'd be a bit stranded.

I tapped the fuel relay and reconnected the battery and it seemed to have worked. Going to let it trickle charge for the day just in case, but it is running again.

I agree with Andy. If it had been my vehicle, the first thing I'd have done was put a full charge back in the battery before attempting to start it. I hope it all works out for you. Make sure you have about 12.5 volts in the battery and then take it to your local auto parts store and ask them to load test it, just for some peace of mind.
