Default Key fob

Since my "new" Saturn Aura came with one key and fob, I bought a fob from Amazon.
Is there a way to program it, or must I go to an automotive locksmith?

I believe the fob must be programmed with the 1st one and the key present at a GM dealership -- but don't quote me on that

I just bought a new fob (Dorman) from carparts.com (<$90) and it came with a programmer. Unfortunately, it did not work on the original fobs, just the new one.
