I just started on this forum today and saw your post. I race in the 24 Hours of Lemons, so similar type of cars but different kind of racing. I just wanted to comment how nice your cage looks and follow your thread. Racing is such a proving grounds.

Got windshield on, plumbed the entire fuel system, got the battery moved back and a master battery switch and panel installed, removed/ covered the moon roof, removed the trunk latches and hinges and went with 4 pins for full removal, got tires shaved and mounted,removed flip lights and made brackets to install just the covers, finished paint. Has been such a long road but all I need to do now is weld the specific Moroso muffler, and put on all my custom decals.... going to be amazing!!
All parts are here now just need time, Part 2 video for this build will be on my youtube in next few days

Car is looking great! Can't wait to hear about your first race with it. How much longer do you have?

 

Opener was supposed to be yesterday but the track did not open.. don't want to go in to particulars but the owner is a pos and in jail... looking at other tracks but unfortunately the commute went from 5 minutes to an hour. Will race this month though.

 

Not sure where you're out of, but Lemons accepts all racers. May have to do a little work to conform to their safety rules but it doesn't look like it would be too much. Thanks for keeping us posted!

 

IDK... our rules were pretty strict. 4 driver door bars full containment seat(head shoulder and leg guards) caged in fuel cell,etc. full suit shoes gloves only thing I see that's not mandatory is hans. Whats your tire rule?

 

tires must be 190tw or higher. Hans or similar is mandatory for us. Next year a fire suppression system likely will be too, but not yet. From the few pictures I saw of your cage it looks very solid. The Lemons rules are fairly simple and only about 2 pages. 1 page is mostly just on the roll cage. We don't need a full containment seat either, just a 1 piece race specific seat. No plastic crap.

 

I really do need a Hans...Pretty sure Lemons came to one of my other local tracks Thompson motorsports park... will have to check it out seems a lot cleaner then the class I run currently. Looks like a lot of fun.

 

yes, they run there in August, NHMP in October and here in NJ next weekend. Hans is great when you need it. We use Z-Tech just because they are cheaper but HANS has the best set-up for sure. You should go check it out at a minimum. Lots of crazy builds there and a very friendly atmosphere.
