Usually you have to pull the front center portion of the dash trim to get to the audio system. The older Saturns (I have a 97 SC2) used plastic center lock pins on either side of the center console ( low and towards the front of the car) to hold this trim piece in place. use a SMALL flathead screwdriver (rotate the head, do not pry) to pop up the center of these lock pins first -- once you get the center all the way up, place the screwdriver under the outer edge of the outer rim portion of the lock pin and again rotate the head of the screwdriver to loosen and remove the whole plastic center lock pin.
The audio systems on the oder cars were held in by two Phillips screws, one on either side of the frame of the audio system.
Based on a 97SC2 but hope this helps...

To get to the back of the radio with out taking the radio out. Get a cutting torch and cut an opening in the firwall. Or you could use a chain saw. The cutting torch works better tho. That way you can fry rice at the same time. Kidding of course.Edited by: sw2cam
