Default Car won't stay running?

So this 2001 SC2 sat for years. Fired up with a jump idled amazing for an hour or so. Second I tried to drive it, it sputtered and died. Has not ran since. To date we have emptied the tank and flushed it out. Filled with fresh fuel. Replaced fuel pump and filter twice... replaced crank sensor, tank pressure sensor, coolant temp sensor, new spark plugs, all new fuel lines, new injectors. We have fuel in the rail. It will start and run great for 45 seconds or so after it sits a while but will sputter out, die, and when you restart it just dies right away. Have fuel, have spark. Tested all the relays and fuses. They are GOOD the coils to be good as well as the ICM. Have injector pulse. WHY WONT IT RUN?

Let me guess, you put your foot on the brake and it stops dead.

Battery cannot hold a charge. Likely ANY charge.
Zilch. Alternator output is likely fine but battery can't store any of the charge coming from it.

Although the alternator output supplies the vehicle with the current needed to run the PCM and ignition system, and in your case BCM, some of the output goes to keep the battery charged. If the battery is not capable of storing the charge, it basically goes almost straight to ground, thus greatly reducing the total available current from the alternator to run the car.

You can check the connections at the battery and the battery chassis ground for tightness and corrosion, but any battery left sitting attached to a car for years without being charged will bite the dust.

I agree with derf. Take the battery and get it load tested first. If that doesn't work, do a compression test and check the air intake for any rodent nests. Maybe something has chewed wires or built a nest. IDK, I'm NOT a mechanic.

We'll never hear from that one again either, derf.
