2000 engine in a 1999 sc2
#1
I have 1999 saturn Sc2 dohc engine that is blown up. I can get a 2000 dohc from a sc2 same vin code low mile engine. My question is can it be interchanged easily? I know the block is the same but the head and intake are different. What are the differences ? What problems? I am assuming the head is also toast on bad engine, so just swapping the block is a last resort. Thanks

Just went through a similar swap only I have a 2000 and it had a bad engine and I swapped it with a 99. There are a few differences in the wiring harness as the MAP; MAF; IAC; TPS;Knock sensor and Camshaft sensor are different as far as the harness ends are concerned. If you can get the 2000 engine with the harness and make the appropriate changes so it will match the harness you nhave it made in the shade. My swap whilst not without hitches work flawlessly after all was said and done .One other thing the cold air intake from the throttle body is also different .Prepare fora few mods here.
