So I have a SC1 1997. It starts cold but the radiator fan is always on. After warming up turned it off and let it sit for 5 min. It was hard to start, had to press gas pedal 1/4 to 1/2 way, like it was some how flooded. Then there was a gassy smell and the fan was still on.
The codes I pulled were:
P0100
P0110
P0115
P0116
P0120

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Bad coolant temperature sensor and/or connector.

And those codes you pulled are not even listed in the Saturn Factory Service Manuals. I dont know how you got them, but the have norhing to do with a Saturn.Edited by: Low Saturn

Ayup ...

Fan running continuously, starts OK when cold, hard starting when hot, smells gassy, screwball codes ....

Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (ECTS) A two-wire sensor located on the block of the engine, on the driver side. About $14 or $15usd at Autozone or similar. Be sure the new sensordoes not have an exposed resin tip, as these types of sensors do not last long. The connector for the wiresis a plastic piece that often fails too, so replace it as well (another $14).

Get some teflon tape, and wrap the threads of the new sensor so it will seal well. Also, make the replacement when the engine is COLD - no need to get scalded.
