I would happily drive anything that would run at this point...

I still haven't sold my s-car yet, but have been cruising CL for a while looking for something just in case it does sell... At this point, my best looking option is looking like my most expensive, by fixing the SL1...

 

Those are for sale too, but those are generally seen as $2000 cars... cut 60% of the price, that's where I would be buying... At the highest, that is, lol

 

For a $1,000 bucks....you get what you can find that runs good, and looks half way decent, etc. Your not going to pay a grand for a Yugo no matter how good it looks.

 

That's a really good point... Cars that aren't very desirable typically have a lower asking price... I've seen a couple S-10 pickups for way under a grand, supposedly running and driving... I seen a 85 Chevette that I would actually love to buy for like $900 in great looking shape... And then there was a 91 Tempo for like $600 with just over 100k on the clock... Had I sold my car by then, I would say I would be driving that one...
