Default Perpetual Crisis Mode

As I've been kicking myself the past few days because I forgot to keep oil in my engine (resulting in permanent damage) I had a sudden reminder today of how things keep getting forgotten. I'm sitting in the hospital again trying to comfort my wife who just had a bad fall (again) and may even have broken her back (again). Today's her 40th birthday (shhh, don't tell anyone) and we're celebrating it in the ER. My plan to head to the local Pick-n-Save tomorrow to get a head to fix the car is probably going to have to be put off. We don't get bored around here and the nearly constant crisis and distractions make it hard to follow through on just about anything. Still looking for a way to keep it all together throughout.

Hang in there, dude.
Between your kids, your wife, and keeping food on the table, doesn't sound like you have any alone time other than the Satty. And it sucks when that one thing that gives you some form of solace becomes another money pit that, on top of everything else, makes it that much more difficult to get to work.....and it just goes around and around.

Just know that the things you do for the ones you love are much more than the sum of the parts. You make their existence tolerable at a minimum and, amidst all the pain and sorrow, you make it possible for your immediate clan to continue moving forward, or at least treading water while waiting for better times.

Keep your chin tucked, your hands up, and keep your eyes on the prize.

Sorry to hear about the wife, Jamnar. I swear we lead parallel lives. My wife fell and broke her ankle on her 29th birthday years ago. We had pizza and ice cream cake in the hospital. And she's had 9 back surgeries to date. If it isn't one thing, it's always another. We'll keep you guys in our prayers and trust that God will take care of it for you and her.

Good news is that she didn't break anything this time, just severely dislocated her hip. Got it back in place, now I'm her gofer until she's back on her feet.
Thanks for the uplifting comments and prayers!

That's wonderful news, Jamnar. I know you're both relieved to know it's not as serious as a broken back. Thank God for that blessing and keep moving forward, man.
